In February, we partnered with Barebottle Brewing and the TJPA to bring hundreds of beer lovers together high above the streets of San Francisco in Salesforce Park for a SF Beer Week Fest 2026.

On Sunday, August 23rd, the Bay Area Brewers Guild will once again partner with Barebottle Brewing and Salesforce Park for:

Suds Francisco 2026: A Funk & Fermentation Festival

As part of Salesforce Park's anniversary celebration, Rooftop Rhythms Weekend, Suds Francisco will serve as the capstone event—a city-wide celebration of fermentation, music, and the people and cultures that make San Francisco such an extraordinary place.

More than a beer festival, Suds Francisco is designed to showcase the broader world of fermentation. Guests can expect a carefully curated lineup of breweries, wineries, cideries, sake and kombucha brewers, sourdough bakers, and fermentation-focused producers from across the Bay Area, alongside live music and some of the best views in the city.

Suds Francisco Is Part of the New Era of Beer Festivals

The municipal beer festival serves a different purpose today than it did in the 1990s and 2000s.

Back then, festivals were often the only places where beer lovers could discover new breweries and access sought-after beers from beyond their immediate area. Today, many of the beers we once stood in long lines to taste are readily available throughout the Bay Area—and not just at taprooms. Many can be had at your local grocery store.

That's one of craft beer's greatest successes. But it also means that beer festivals need to evolve.

A modern beer festival needs to offer something more than access to exceptional breweries. It should be the most compelling thing happening in the city that weekend. The venue should be beautiful. The music should be memorable. The food should be worthy of the beverages being poured. The experience should feel distinctly rooted in the culture and character of the place where it happens.

Great beer remains the common thread that brings us together, but its role has evolved from being the destination to being the catalyst. The best festivals use beer as a reason to celebrate something larger: community, creativity, and local culture.

As the Bay Area Brewers Guild returns to our pre-pandemic level of event programming, this is the standard we intend to pursue.

If all you're looking for is world-class beer, you don't need a festival. Pick one of our member breweries and head there this afternoon.

But if what you loved about beer festivals was the feeling they created—the chance to discover new things, spend time with friends, meet passionate people, and celebrate the culture of a place alongside hundreds of like-minded enthusiasts—then stay tuned.

Suds Francisco is just the beginning.

We're currently assembling the exhibitor lineup and can't wait to begin sharing participating breweries and producers in the weeks ahead.
